Terms of Service
Effective date: July 16, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the websites, applications, academy portal, and services provided by Chesstatic Private Limited, operating the platform hosted at chessfeed.ai ("Chessfeed", "we", "our", or "us").
1. Acceptance and scope
By creating an account, accessing or using the Services, purchasing a plan or Credit pack, accepting Academy access, or otherwise indicating acceptance, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund and Cancellation Policy, and any additional terms displayed at checkout or agreed in an order form.
If you use the Services for an academy, company, school, club, or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation. Any signed master services agreement, order form, data-processing agreement, or other negotiated agreement with Chessfeed will supplement these Terms and will control to the extent of a direct conflict.
Do not use the Services if you do not agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility and minors
The Services may be used by adults and by minors involved in chess learning. A person considered as a minor under the applicable laws may use the Services only with the involvement and legally valid consent of a parent or legal guardian, or through an Academy that has obtained the permissions required by applicable law.
A parent or guardian who permits a minor to use the Services accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf, is responsible for the minor's use, and is responsible for charges authorised through the account. Academies are responsible for obtaining any parental, guardian, institutional, or student permissions required before onboarding students.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except to the extent caused by our breach of applicable law or security obligations.
You must not share account access to any other person in a way that circumvents plan, seat, usage, or security limits. Notify us promptly at ops@chessfeed.ai if you suspect unauthorised access, payment activity, or misuse.
We may require verification, restrict access, or suspend an account while investigating suspected fraud, abuse, chargebacks, security incidents, fair-play violations, or breaches of these Terms.
4. The Services and AI-assisted features
Chessfeed provides chess study, game import and analysis, interactive position exploration, Stockfish-based evaluation, AI coaching, scoresheet digitisation, academy workflows, and related features. Features may be introduced, changed, limited, or discontinued over time. The use of services is permitted as a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Platform and the services are to be used only by the license holder and not by any other person.
AI and engine outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. They are provided for chess education and analysis, not as a guarantee of the best move, tournament outcome, or coaching result. You remain responsible for how you use any output including all legal responsibilities in case of its further dissemination.
5. User Content and licence
You retain ownership of chess games, PGNs, scoresheets, images, notes, messages, and other content you submit or create ("User Content"). You grant Chessfeed a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, analyse, transform, transmit, and display User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Services.
If you intentionally make content public, you permit us to display and distribute that content through public product surfaces. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and must not submit unlawful, infringing, harmful, or malicious material.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to evaluate and improve our systems. Any use of identifiable or private User Content for model training beyond providing and improving the Services will be governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Subject to these Terms, you may use AI-generated analysis and coaching output for your personal chess study or your organisation's internal educational use. You may not resell, systematically extract, or commercially redistribute the Services or outputs without our written permission.
6. Plans, Credits, and game-analysis allowances
Credits. Digital usage units that may be consumed by supported features, including AI Coach interactions, deep analysis, scoresheet digitisation, and additional game analysis after an included allowance is exhausted. The available credits are intimated at the time of subscription purchase.
Monthly Credits. Credits included with a Free or paid plan for a defined period. They expire at the end of that period and do not roll over unless the product or checkout expressly states otherwise.
Top-up Credits. Credits purchased separately through a one-time payment. Unless a purchase screen states a different validity period, Top-up Credits expire 180 days after they are granted.
Included game-analysis allowance. A monthly or period-based number of eligible game analyses included with a plan. It is separate from the Credit balance and expires at the end of the applicable period.
Academy Credits and allowances. Pooled entitlements purchased or granted to an Academy and usable only within eligible Academy contexts by authorised members.
Credits are contractual access units only. They are not legal tender, electronic money, stored value, a bank deposit, or a transferable property right. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between users or academies, and cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by applicable law or expressly approved under the Refund and Cancellation Policy. The credit consumption system on the platform is as follows which is subject to revision at the discretion of Chessfeed:
| Feature/action | Current default charge |
|---|---|
| Ask AI Coach in Study | 1 Credit |
| Deep Study analysis | 1 Credit |
| Scoresheet digitisation | 1 Credit |
| Standard game review | 1 included game analysis; after allowance is exhausted, 2 Credits with user confirmation |
The applicable Credit cost or allowance usage for a feature may change prospectively. Where a feature requires a specific charge, the product will display or otherwise communicate the applicable cost before the billable action is confirmed.
For game analysis, the included game-analysis allowance is used first. After it is exhausted, the product may offer continued analysis for Credits and require confirmation before the Credit charge is made.
Our billing system may temporarily reserve Credits or allowance before starting a billable action. A successful action commits the charge. If the action fails before billable completion, the reservation is released and the reserved balance is restored, subject to reasonable processing delay and fraud controls.
Unless otherwise displayed, monthly included Credits are consumed before longer-lived purchased Top-up Credits. Expired entitlements are removed automatically and are not restored merely because they were unused.
7. Free plan
The Free plan may include a monthly allocation of Credits and game analyses. Free-plan allocations, eligibility, feature access, and usage limits may change at any time based on the decision of Chessfeed. Free allocations expire at the end of the applicable period and are not refundable or redeemable.
A Free user may purchase Top-up Credits without subscribing, subject to availability and checkout terms.
8. B2C paid subscriptions
Paid consumer plans are billed in advance at the frequency shown at checkout. The currently implemented paid plans renew monthly unless cancelled. By subscribing, you authorise Razorpay and Chessfeed to initiate recurring charges for the selected plan until cancellation, completion, payment failure, or other termination.
A paid period begins only after the relevant charge is captured or otherwise verified. Each successfully paid period grants the Credits and game-analysis allowance shown for that plan. Provider status alone does not create an entitlement if payment has not been captured or verified.
You may cancel the subscription through account settings. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current paid period. You retain the paid plan and its unexpired entitlements until that period ends, but you will not receive a prorated refund solely because you cancel early.
The current product does not support an immediate in-place upgrade or downgrade of an active subscription. You may need to cancel the current plan at period end and then subscribe to another plan when eligible. Any future plan-change flow will be governed by the terms displayed at that time.
If a renewal charge fails, remains pending, is reversed, or cannot be verified, no new monthly entitlements are granted for the unpaid period. Access may revert to Free-plan terms after the previously paid period expires. Previously created content will generally remain in the account, but paid actions may be unavailable until payment is resolved.
We may change subscription prices, plan entitlements, or included usage prospectively. For an existing recurring subscriber, we will provide notice required by applicable law and, as a general policy, at least 30 days' advance notice of a material price increase before it applies to a future renewal.
9. One-time Credit top-ups
A Credit pack is a one-time purchase and does not create, renew, extend, or replace a subscription. The pack price, number of Credits, currency, validity period, and any tax will be displayed at checkout.
Top-up Credits are granted only after payment is captured and verified. Closing or cancelling checkout, a failed payment, or an unverified payment does not create Credits.
Unless otherwise stated at purchase, Top-up Credits expire 180 days after grant. Expiry does not pause while an account is inactive. Purchase and use are also subject to the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
10. Academy plans and paid student access
Academy plans are intended for chess academies, clubs, schools, coaches, and similar organisations. Academy commercial terms may also be set out in an order form or separate agreement.
Academy V1 uses prepaid paid-seat capacity for a defined billing period. One Academy plan applies to the Academy for that billing period; mixed plan types within the same period are not supported unless we expressly agree otherwise.
A roster student is not billable merely because the student exists in the Academy portal. A student uses a paid seat only when an authorised Academy administrator assigns active paid access. The Academy may unassign or replace students within available paid capacity. Assignment, unassignment, or replacement does not itself create additional Credits or game-analysis allowance.
Academy Credits and game-analysis allowances are pooled and controlled by the Academy. A student does not own any portion of the Academy pool. Eligible activity performed in an authorised Academy context may be charged to the Academy pool; personal workspace activity may continue to use the user's personal B2C entitlements.
Initial Academy purchases and renewals are paid in advance through a payment request, Razorpay Payment Link, or an approved assisted or offline payment method. Academy V1 does not use automatic recurring subscription mandates. No new billing period, seat capacity, Credits, or allowance is activated until payment is captured or verified.
An Academy may purchase additional seats during an active period. The charge and related entitlements are prorated for the remaining period and become effective after payment confirmation. Reducing seats does not reduce the current paid period or produce an automatic current-period refund; the reduction applies to the next billing period unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Academy Top-up Credits, where offered, are pooled, do not increase seat capacity or included game-analysis allowance, and expire 180 days after grant unless checkout states otherwise. The Academy agreement or order form may contain additional cancellation, service, data-protection, and support terms.
11. Payment processing, prices, taxes, and invoices
Payments are processed through Razorpay or another payment provider identified at checkout. You may be required to accept the provider's own terms and privacy policy. Chessfeed does not intentionally store complete card, UPI credential, or bank-account authentication data entered into the provider's checkout.
You authorise us and the payment provider to use the billing details and transaction identifiers needed to process, verify, reconcile, refund, investigate, and support your payment.
The plan, pack, price, currency, billing interval, taxes, discounts, and total payable amount shown at final checkout apply to the transaction. Where location-based or international pricing is offered, you must provide accurate billing and location information and must not use technical means to misrepresent your location.
Applicable taxes, invoice requirements, and currency-conversion treatment will be shown at checkout or on the invoice/receipt, as required. Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may impose separate currency-conversion or transaction charges that are outside our control.
12. Refunds, billing corrections, and payment disputes
Refunds, accidental purchases, duplicate or incorrect charges, Top-up Credits, subscription cancellations, Academy payments, and chargebacks are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy and any applicable Academy agreement.
If you believe a charge is incorrect or Credits were not granted after a successful payment, contact ops@chessfeed.ai promptly with the account email and transaction details. Do not submit false payment disputes or chargebacks. While a genuine dispute is investigated, we may suspend the disputed entitlement or restrict related billing activity.
13. Promotions, trials, and administrative adjustments
We may offer discounts, coupons, trials, bonus Credits, launch grants, event offers, referral benefits, or Academy-sponsored access. The benefits are generally applicable prospectively and are at the discretion of Chessfeed. Promotional terms may limit eligibility, duration, use, stacking, transfer, or redemption. Unless expressly stated, promotional and administratively granted Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable. No specific notice is required to be given for such benefits.
We may correct, revoke, or reverse promotional or administrative entitlements granted because of error, duplication, fraud, misuse, payment reversal, or breach, while maintaining appropriate internal records.
14. Acceptable use and fair usage
You must not use the Services for unlawful activity, unauthorised automation, bulk extraction, scraping, resale, credential sharing, security testing without permission, malware distribution, harassment, infringement, or attempts to circumvent plan, seat, Credit, allowance, rate, or access controls.
You shall not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform, sub-license, lease, or rent the Platform to any third party, or use the Platform to develop a competing product.
If a feature is described as "unlimited", that means reasonable use by a human user in the ordinary course of chess study. It does not permit automated, commercial-scale, or abusive use. We may apply rate limits or temporary restrictions to protect service quality, security, and infrastructure.
You must not use real-time analysis or AI assistance in a manner that violates tournament rules, fair-play policies, examination rules, or the terms of Chess.com, Lichess, FIDE, an organiser, school, academy, or other third party.
15. Third-party services
The Services may integrate with Chess.com, Lichess, Google, Microsoft, Razorpay, cloud providers, AI providers, and other third parties. Their services are governed by their own terms and may change or become unavailable. We are not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.
If a linked chess-platform account is restricted for suspected fair-play violations, we may review and restrict related Chessfeed access to protect the integrity of the Services. Any termination and refund consequence will be handled under these Terms, the Refund and Cancellation Policy, and applicable law rather than automatically solely because a third party took action.
16. Intellectual property
The Services, software, interfaces, branding, graphics, documentation, models, prompts, workflows, and non-user content are owned by or licensed to Chessfeed and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Services under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
You may not reverse engineer, copy, modify, create a competing dataset from, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services except where applicable law does not permit the restriction or we provide written permission.
17. Privacy and data protection
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal data, including payment and billing data, Academy data, information about minors, AI interactions, and usage records. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms.
18. Suspension, termination, and effect on entitlements
You may stop using the Services or request account deletion subject to applicable retention requirements. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, fraud, security risk, abuse, non-payment, illegal activity, or where necessary to protect users or the Services. Where reasonably possible and legally appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
On expiry or termination, unused monthly included Credits and allowances expire according to their normal period. Treatment of purchased Top-up Credits, disputed payments, refunds, and Academy prepaid fees is governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy, any Academy agreement, and mandatory law.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including payment obligations, intellectual property, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability limitations, dispute provisions, and lawful data-retention rights.
19. Availability, warranties, and disclaimers
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free analysis, permanent preservation of every feature, or compatibility with every device or third-party platform.
Unless a separate signed agreement states otherwise, consumer and standard Academy Services do not include a service-level agreement, uptime guarantee, or service-credit commitment.
20. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chessfeed and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, opportunity, reputation, data, or tournament results arising from the Services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of the Services or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to Chessfeed during the 3 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable statutory consumer rights.
21. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Chessfeed against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, infringement by your User Content, breach of these Terms, or unauthorised use of an organisation or payment account. This provision does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach or negligence.
22. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact ops@chessfeed.ai so we can attempt to resolve the issue informally.
Subject to mandatory consumer-protection and jurisdiction rules, courts located in Pune, Maharashtra, India will have exclusive jurisdiction. The parties may agree in writing to resolve a particular dispute through arbitration under applicable Indian law.
23. Changes to these Terms or the Services
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, technology, payment methods, pricing, product features, or business practices. We will post the updated Terms with a revised effective date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
Changes to a paid subscription price will apply only prospectively to a future billing period after applicable notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law; where fresh consent is required, we will request it.
24. General provisions
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, restructuring, financing, or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable law.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy, checkout disclosures, and any applicable Academy agreement or order form constitute the agreement governing your use of the Services.
